MOTORSPORTS PARK IN 2023

FOR IMMEDIATE
RELEASE
(Delevan, NY)...Recently
the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Racing Series presented by Born2Run
Lubricants announced that Freedom Motorsports Park had signed on to be a
weekly-sanctioned track for the RUSH Late Models and RUSH Pro Mods in 2023.
Now the Series is excited to announce that Freedom will also run the RUSH
Stock Car division on Friday nights at the 1/3-mile western New York dirt track
operated by Bob Reis!
Freedom will allow the RUSH Stock Cars to run their own heat race, but will race
with the Street Stocks in their feature until car count warrants a separate RUSH
Stock Car feature; however, the RUSH Stock Car heat race winner will be eligible
for the Street Stock redraw and the highest finishing RUSH Stock Car in the
feature will be recognized in victory lane.
In addition, the highest finishing RUSH Stock Car in the Street Stock
feature will receive first place RUSH points with the second highest receiving
second place points and so on (providing the drivers are RUSH members).
One of the committed RUSH Stock Cars for 2023 at Freedom is soon to be
15-year-old Kaden Michael, son of veteran RUSH Late Model racer Andy Michael.
Kaden's car will be on display at the Olean (NY) Mall Show this weekend.
Kaden is a former Mini Stock racer.
"The current Pro Stock and Street Stocks are getting totally away from the
original concept of Street Stock racing," acknowledged Reis.
"There's been a lot of interest in the RUSH Stock Car program at Freedom
and with us now sanctioning our Late Models and Pro Mods with RUSH, it makes
sense that we go that route as we look into the future.
I'm totally committed to the growth of this class."
"We can't thank Bob enough for going with the RUSH program for three of our
classes now," stated RUSH Director Vicki Emig.
"It will be seven years since Freedom was part of our RUSH Late Model
program and now for the first time the Pro Mods and Stock Car racers will be
able to take advantage of competing at Freedom in 2023 for points.
Bob really believes in the RUSH Stock Cars concept as we do and we're
grateful for his commitment to the division."
The RUSH Stock Cars debuted in 2021.
The RUSH Stock Cars look like "stock cars" resembling Monte Carlos and are
powered by Chevrolet Performance 602 crate engines on sealed/spec Bilstein
Shocks, RUSH 91 pump fuel, and Hoosier spec tires. Those four key "cost
containment" elements have already proved very successful in the RUSH Sportsman
Modified and Sprint Car divisions, both of which continue to have strong forward
momentum with great car counts and extremely competitive racing.
Estimated current cost for a complete Chevrolet Performance 602 engine
package, carb to pan, range from $7,500 (used) to $10,000 (new), and racers who
competed in the class this past year estimate they have $12,000-$16,000 in their
complete cars.
Beginning in 2023, the Bernheisel "M" Series full perimeter metric chassis, part
#788200, which retails for $2,195 will be permitted in competition.
Also, Hoosier Medium 100's or Medium tires will be permitted, which is
the same Hoosier Tire utilized on the RUSH Pro Mods and other similar Pure/Hobby
Stock Car divisions in the region.
A Hovis Weekly Series Championship in excess of $7,500 has again been posted for
2023 with $2,000 to-win paying down 15 positions for member drivers.
In addition, a three-position paying
"Futures Cup" points fund with $200 to-win will again be posted for eligible
teenage racers. Also, as is the case with
the other RUSH divisions, a "Manufacturers Night" presented by MSD Performance
will also be part of the program.
RUSH Membership, which is optional but required to receive points and be
eligible for the points fund, is $125.
Membership includes a $100,000 excess participant accident insurance
policy when competing in a RUSH-sanctioned event.
Interested speedways in the RUSH Stock Cars are urged to contact the office at
724-964-9300 or e-mail [email protected].
Drivers interested in the division are asked to e-mail their contact info
to be added to the driver contact list to keep abreast of any updates concerning
the division.
